Howard Lutnick, Trump's Secretary of Commerce is a piece of work. The former Wall Street star and billionaire has an impressive reputation, but it appears he has lost touch with the world in which ordinary citizens live. Trump hasn't called him down for his outrageous claim, so maybe that is how he feels about everyday people who aren't megadonors and don't work directly for him. This is truly a sad state of affairs, especially if MAGA aficionados think this is appropriate. No outrage from them, yet. WASHINGTON – Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick suggested this week that only "fraudsters" would complain about missing a Social Security check - but honest people like his mother-in-law would simply live with the fact that the government didn't mail their monthly payment.
“Let's say social security didn't send out their checks this month. My mother-in-law who’s 94, she wouldn’t call and complain,” Lutnick said during an appearance on the “All-In” podcast. “She'd think something got messed up, and she'll get it next month. A fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling and complaining.”
