One of the few luxuries I enjoyed growing as one of four kids in a one-income blue collar family was a subscription to Dell Comics. I got a monthly dose of the antics of Donald (Duck), his three nephews, Huey, Louie, and Dewey, and sometimes his wealthy and stingy Uncle Scrooge. Uncle Scrooge had a ballroom-sized "money bin" full of gold, silver, and bags of cash. We never know how deep the money bin was, but in one installment of the monthly comic book, he engaged in a costly statue building contest with another wealthy character that appeared to empty the money bin completely. As Scrooge's competitor was crowing over his accomplishment, Scrooge pushed a button on the wall and the floor opened up revealing a second money bin as large as the first one and brimming with treasure and cash. He frequently enjoyed just sitting in the money bid and playing with his riches.
When Donald Trump threatens institutions of higher learner with loss of federal funds if they have a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program or for any other reason not related directly to higher learning, he goes too far. Personally, I am glad Trump has rid the federal government of its onerous and costly DEI programs, but the federal government should not be advocating against or for, such programs. If the government wants to say a college or university can't use federal funds to promote DEI, that's fine, but the government shouldn't tell the institution it can't promote DEI.
