Trump and Musk

Man, a lot of people really love Trump and Musk. They may not have a clue what the duo is up to, but they cheer them on, nonetheless. Despite the fact that I am a conservative and a registered Republican who voted for Trump in 2024, I ran into a buzzsaw when I dared to say anything unflattering about Trump and/or Musk on my Facebook page. Not wanting to sever lifelong friendships or be banished to the kids' table at family holidays, I no longer post my political comments on Facebook. They will be in this blog henceforth.

Rather than just offering my criticisms, I will acknowledge it when the Trump administration does something smart. For instance, the administration has announced that it will stop using military transport aircraft to deport illegal immigrants. One report said such a flight to Guatemala cost at least $4675 per illegal, roughly five times what it would cost to send them on a first-class ticket on American Airlines. Good decision. No indication that DOGE had anything to do with identifying this unnecessary expense.

Anything the Trump/Musk brain trust comes up with is fair game, but I will concentrate on areas I know something about, namely federal personnel policies and federal contracting/purchasing/procurement. Be watching for my comments on the questionable decision to freeze the use of government credit cards for a month.
